spatial poem no 1

I’m doing a rendition of Fluxus artist Meiko Shiomi’s Spatial Poem No. 1. AND I WOULD LOVE FOR YOU TO PLEASE JOIN IN!
In this particular project, participants were asked to write a word on a card and leave it anywhere in the world. In 1965 she mailed artists all over the globe asking them to participate and mail back documentation. I’d like to stay true to the spirit of the project but expand upon it by way of technology and social media.
It’ll take less than five minutes! If you wish to participate follow these easy instructions:
1. Take a photo of your card in the place you are leaving it.
2. Email the photo to me at angelicacrimmins@yahoo.com and be sure to include your first name (last name optional) and LOCATION in the body of the email.
Thanks! Hope to hear from some of you.
XOXO

in my graphic design class we are making a series of montages in photoshop. all i managed to do in my three hour studio were these silly little inspiration boards i always make.
the only real consensus i came to was the fact that i've been really drawn to picasso lately. not only his work but his dynamic personality. i think i may even be him for halloween this year.

SOS

save our surf was a grassroots organization formed in hawaii circa 1969 protesting the army's plan to expand tourist development in waikiki.
their worst nightmares have been materialized; tourism has not only engulfed waikiki but also towns all the way on the other side of the island.
40 years later the locals are still enraged,
i guess that's the price we pay for paradise.

aint that the truth

"My work speaks of a desire to create sanctuaries for the self. It gestures towards fantasy, and a space where new meanings are actualised, and the everyday exoticised."
miranda skoczeck, artist

if you are need of some color therapy, her gallery should suffice.
